Here we are sitting down with Canadian BJJ Black Belt and the submission hunter Kieran Kichuk. When the pandemic hit all across Canada many individuals were left without options and indecisions where to go from there. Nobody spearheaded that time like Kieran. Taking the opportunity to study and join the Medal Chasers with Master Lloyd Irvin; Kieran was able to refine and take his game to heights he hadn’t see before.
Currently riding a 92% submission rate Kieran is delivering in what jiujitsu embodies. Driving towards the submission which it was intended. As we discuss his transition of his game and how staying with the the Lloyd Irvin team changed his mentality how he approached the game of jiujitsu. With that he found his new success and his drive to help propel the sport in Canada and beyond. Enjoy the show and comment below!

Getting a chance to catch up with good friend and former colleague Marcellus “Boomakat” Bowman. Before become a the strength and condition coach he’s know to be now Marcellus is a former CFL Linebacker who previously made his name know with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger Cats. When an injury prevented him from continuing his career in his much loved sport he focused his energy into coaching and getting athletes better in the very sport that had give him a path forward. 
Working in a variety of commercial gym settings with various ranges of clients and then making his way back onto the sidelines as a coach with Auburn University and University of Central Florida; Marcellus found his calling. Forming Eat-Sleep-Peak allowed Marcellus to put all his acquired knowledge to work starting his venture in changing people lives for the better athletically and optimally.
We discuss a various range of topics involving his time in Canada as an athlete and trainer, College Football campus training, concussion in the sport and much much more.

Max Misyura is a fellow Canadian BJJ Brown Belt who joined the famous Marcelo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy after moving to New York City in 2019. Working as a Clinical Molecular Geneticist at one of the cities finest Cancer Hospitals; Max' day job consist of helping with the testing of patients who have been diagnosed or might be predisposed to cancer due to a hereditary mutation running in their family.
We catch up with Max and his experience of the Covid-19 pandemic in New York City which at one point had become the worlds epidemic centre at the beginning of March 2020. With his connection rooted to the Medical field and his knowledge we break down some of the realities the pandemic has brought to light. The reality based effects of dealing with this virus and the pro/cons to approaches that have transpired.
As Max shares his experience in the BJJ community throughout his Canadian tour days as a competitor, referee and practitioner; along with his renewed opportunity with Marcelo Garcia once the academy reopens.

Gabe Sagman is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and Pro MMA fighter fighting out of House of Champions MMA in Stoney Creek, Ontario Canada. His martial arts career transitions from from Shotokan Karate, BJJ before putting his man focus into becoming a pro MMA Fighter. Currently with a 6-4 record Gabe is looking for that next opportunity to get back into action but like everyone has had those goals put on hold with the pandemic derailing those actions.
We talk about his fighting career as a whole with his philosophy in his training, experiences in and out of the cage in his own career, experiences working at the UFC Performance Institute and his next steps when he eventually finishes his career inside the cage.
Gabe’s martial arts journey began with Shotokan Karate. After earning his black belt, Gabe’s thirst for knowledge grew, as the UFC and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu caught his eye. With the interest of learning real self-defence that would work on someone bigger and stronger, Gabe started training at a local MMA academy. While the gym offered Muay Thai and other classes, Gabe fell in love with BJJ and started competing within months of training. In addition to the learning and competing, Gabe enjoyed being a part of the culture and community that BJJ provided. As he explains, “Jiu-Jitsu has a way of bringing people together. You have doctors, students, and people from all different walks of life stepping on the mats and training together. These are people who otherwise probably would never have met, and they build strong bonds and friendships through the training.”

UFC 261 is in the books and what an event happening out of Jacksonville, Florida. With Ontario officially going through its third wave of Covid-19 and its third lockdown; it was pretty eye opening to see an event of 15,000 in attendance.
Seeming like a distance memory of live events; you can do nothing but tip your hat to the UFC for delivering one of the best cards to date in recent memory. Jam packed with 3 title defenses headlined by Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal 2 for the UFC Welterweight Championship, boy did it deliver.
Also featuring two Women title fights; first up was the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship which on it’s own could have been a headliner was your co-main event with Champion Weili Zhang vs Rose Namajunas. Lastly UFC Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko faced off against always game Jessica Andrade for the final title fight.
Breaking down also the two other bouts on the main card both ending in leg injuries to their respected opponents. Uriah Hall defeating Chris Weidman who unfortunately suffered a devasting leg injury to his leg after a checked kick and Anthony Smith delivering the damage to Jimmy Crute’s leg with precision and repetition.
We also look at the sideline mischief by YouTube and now boxing superstar Jake Paul coming to the event with one goal in mind, create controversy and stir shit up. Successful he was drawing a crowd, his confrontation with Daniel Cormier and calling out UFC President Dana White. Looking at the possible potential matchups upon the horizon for Jake Paul including the names of Dillon Danis,Tyron Woodley and BJ Penn.
With Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs Logan Paul finally having an event date set for June 5th we talk about the possibility if Logan Paul has a shot at all against arguably one of the greatest defensive boxers of all time.
Lastly with the trilogy set Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3 is a go and who’s about to make the adjustment to take the red panty night prize money. Has Conor McGregor surrounded himself around the right people to make the adjustments needed to take the trilogy or has Dustin Poirier figured out the Irishman for the better and put the final nail in the storied career of Conor McGregor.

Getting the chance to sit down and talk with Breno Damieri training out of Action Reaction in the east end of Toronto. Originally coming out of the Cicero Costha Brazil Team, Breno was able to come to Canada close to two years ago and hasn't looked back since. We spoke a bunch about his growth in jiujitsu starting at a young age; lead by the teachings of his father where jiujitsu was a part of your upbringing in his home province of Brazil. Seeing the options to grow as a competitor, Breno saw the opportunity to take a chance of being a part of the exciting growth of BJJ in Canada compared to electing to go straight to the USA.
Although faced with its challenges of the continuous pandemic still happening across the country it hasn't allowed Breno to stop his study or will to compete. As the competitions might have halted, in the shadows the growth continues with his studies waiting to emerge. Learning from his experiences and hoping to pass his knowledge to a new group of individuals in a post pandemic world Breno has no hope lost. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will be back in Canada and stronger than ever!

With our hometowns going into another stay at home order lockdown it's like deja vu all over again. We discuss some options available for us in regards to the vaccine rollout in hotspots, Facebook warriors and the need for us to work together as a society to make it through this pandemic. 
Especially when looking at places where you can train bjj without the worry of getting a ticket April 30th will feature another WNO event put on by FloGrappling headlined by Craig Jones vs Tye Ruotolo. Breaking down the match between yet another event filled with the newly fueled Danaher Death Squad vs Atos rivalry. This event is packed with some other amazing matches that you could insert into any card as great co-main events. 
Rafael Lovato Jr vs Gilbert Burns is destined to an amazing match with two world class competitor and mma athletes. Rafael Lovato Jr the former Bellator Middle Weight champion taking on former #1 UFC Welterweight Contender and IBJJF World Champion Gilbert Burns. 
Nicky Ryan vs PJ Barch with Nicky making his comeback from his knee injury and looking to make his stamp back on the trail on the competition floor. 
The rematch of Ethan Crelinsten vs Kade Ruotolo is for sure to be an amazing match between these two competitors with controversy and questions left over from their last match.
Finally the Daisy Fresh protégé Andrew Wiltse vs faces Michigan David Garmo who has been making waves throughout the competition floor and looks to take his place on the WNO cards moving forward.

Sitting down with Miguel Valdez founder of Valdez Strength and Performance to on the show. Getting the chance to speak with Miguel about the adjustments he's had to make within his own training business and as a fitness professional since the beginning of the pandemic. We discuss the outlook of the industry, training methodology, power lifting and the do's and don'ts when it come to training. No matter what your goal is, creating a plan to optimize your performance is key and that's what Miguel focuses on.
In 2015, Miguel started the Brampton Barbell Club - an Ontario Powerlifting Association affiliated team that had athletes competing at the local, Provincial and National level. As a member of Brampton Barbell, Miguel competed and broke the Canadian Powerlifting Federation Junior National 75kg Bench Press record, solidifying him as a name to watch in the sport of powerlifting. After breaking the record, Miguel switched his focus to a new sport and passion - Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, training out of Toronto BJJ. Within a year of starting Miguel began competing in both Gi and No Gi under the Jiu-Jitsu For Life Team.
Miguel’s drive and passion for self improvement has translated into an incredible focus to better himself as a Strength and Conditioning coach. Miguel has trained combat athletes across multiple disciplines at both a Professional and Amateur level, including: BJJ, Boxing, MMA, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Karate, and Kali.
Miguel believes in a “white belt mentality”, continuing to study and learn as he furthers his pursuit of improving human performance.
